All Accounted For
I talked to my sister today - so now we're all accounted for. Basically, every one of my siblings took trees to their roofs, and most have significant water damage. We're talking about a subtropical region down there with no power, mosquitoes galore, mildew begins very quickly when things are wet.
But they are all thankful not to be in NOLA which, from the news reports, is just making me cry. I'm sitting here in St. Louis, with a busy, normal schedule, and babies are dying of thirst in a major city of one of the wealthiest countries in the world:
"People chanted, "Help, help!" as reporters and photographers walked through. The crowd got angry when journalists tried to photograph one of the bodies, and covered it over with a blanket. A woman, screaming, went on the front steps of the convention center and led the crowd in reciting the 23rd Psalm." (read more).
