My Blog's 12th Anniversary

Hi, dear readers. Because of some database maintenance, I just realized that today, September 22, 2012 is the 12th anniversary of this blog. I posted my first blurb here on 9/22/2000. Thanks go to all of you who have read these 12 years, suffered through my intellectual gains and losses from age 26 through now at age 38. I don't know why I blog, but I do know that it helps to keep me anchored to a larger world. No doubt, I've disappointed many of you throughout the years, but I appreciate all of your friendship. I am very much a work in progress, and I appreciate your gentle corrections, your objections to things I say, and your willingness to bear with me, even if you disagree profoundly. I know that not all of you are from my little corner of the religious, political, or cultural world, but I appreciate your readership.

If you're wondering, I made a lot of the archives private at some point, so you can't read all the way back to the beginning, but I've just unprotected the first post in case you're interested. Today's post is the 3,134th post on my blog. I have also blogged 1,703 tidbits on the sidebar.

Guy reviews his gen 1 iPad. He captures well why I use Macs in general - they might be exciting at first, but in the long run they just work, and I find myself focusing on my work rather than OS issues or anything else. » 11/28/2012
